Do you know?
* When Windows downloads an .EXE file, it presents the user with three options. 1.SAVE 2.OPEN 3.CANCEL
* If the 'OPEN' option is chosen then Windows downloads the file in the WINDOWS/ TEMPORARY INTERNET FOLDER before it opens it for viewing. ONE HAS NO CHOICE TO SCAN THE FILE as WINDOWS executes the file immidiately after download. WINDOWS later delets this file.
* If the 'SAVE' 0ption is chosen then Windows asks you where you want to save the file. One browses to the folder of his choice and the file is downloaded there. Here, if one so wishes, the file can be scaned with whatever VIRUS PROGRAM one has on his computer.
* AS THE TIME TAKEN FOR DOWNLOAD IN BOTH THE CASES IS THE SAME, IT IS ADVISEABLE TO USE THE 'SAVE' OPTION AS THIS GIVES ONE TOTAL CONTROL OVER EXECUTING THE FILE THUS DOWNLOADED.
