Curried Chicken


Ingredients

Dressed Chicken1 kg
Onion250 gms
Green Chillies2 - medium size
Ginger5 gms
Garlic10 gms
Tomatoes250 gms
Cumin Powder10 gms
Cinnamon5 gms
Cloves5 gms
Cardamom5 gms
Bay Leaves6
Plain Yogurt60 mls
Cooking Medium (Fat/Oil)50 mls
SaltTo taste
Fresh Corriander (Optional)Few sprigs

Preparation
  1. Wash, clean & cut the chicken into 8 pieces, add salt.
  2. Marinate in Plain Yougurt for 1 hour
  3. Peel & slice the onions.
  4. Grind Ginger, garlic, green chillies, tomatoes, cumin powder, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves into a fine paste.
  5. Chop the corriander leaves finely.

Cooking

Heat Oil/Fat in a wok.
Add the bay leaves & sliced onions. Fry till Golden Brown.
Add the paste, mix well & cook for 10 minutes.
Add the marinated Chicken/Meat, mix well.
Cover the wok and cook over medium heat till the chicken is evenly tender.
Pour 1-1/2 cups of hot water, a pinch of salt and allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
Garnish with chopped corriander leaves (optional).

Serve hot with plain rice.
