Curried Chicken
Ingredients
 | Dressed Chicken | 1 kg |
 | Onion | 250 gms |
 | Green Chillies | 2 - medium size |
 | Ginger | 5 gms |
 | Garlic | 10 gms |
 | Tomatoes | 250 gms |
 | Cumin Powder | 10 gms |
 | Cinnamon | 5 gms |
 | Cloves | 5 gms |
 | Cardamom | 5 gms |
 | Bay Leaves | 6 |
 | Plain Yogurt | 60 mls |
 | Cooking Medium (Fat/Oil) | 50 mls |
 | Salt | To taste |
 | Fresh Corriander (Optional) | Few sprigs |
Preparation
- Wash, clean & cut the chicken into 8 pieces, add salt.
- Marinate in Plain Yougurt for 1 hour
- Peel & slice the onions.
- Grind Ginger, garlic, green chillies, tomatoes, cumin powder, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves into a fine paste.
- Chop the corriander leaves finely.
Cooking
Heat Oil/Fat in a wok.
Add the bay leaves & sliced onions. Fry till Golden Brown.
Add the paste, mix well & cook for 10 minutes.
Add the marinated Chicken/Meat, mix well.
Cover the wok and cook over medium heat till the chicken is evenly tender.
Pour 1-1/2 cups of hot water, a pinch of salt and allow it to simmer for 5 minutes.
Garnish with chopped corriander leaves (optional).
Serve hot with plain rice.
