Fruit & Jelly Perfection
Ingredients
FOR THE BASE
 | Jello/Jelly Crystal | 1 packet |
 | Apples | 2 |
 | Oranges | 3 |
 | Bananas | 3 |
 | Plain Cake Slices | 6 slices |
 | Custard Powder | 4 tablespoons |
 | Milk | 2 litres |
 | Sugar | 100 gms |
TOPPING & DECORATION
 | Vanilla Ice Cream | 6 cups (12 scoops) |
 | Cherries | 30 gms - chopped |
 | Almonds | 30 gms - blanched |
 | Orange Wafer Buiscuits | 6~8 |
Preparation: 15 minutes
- In large Dessert bowl, set the Jello/Jelly and refrigerate.
- Peel the Bananas, Oranges & Apples; chop fine.
- Crumble the cake slices & keep aside.
- Stir in the custard powder in 3 tbsp of chilled milk.
Cooking: 30 minutes
Heat milk in a pan. Boil for 20 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
Blend in the custard, stir
continuously to avoid formation of lumps. When custard thickens, add
sugar , remove pan from heat, allow to cool.
Assembly
- Check to confirm if Jello/Jelly has set.
- Add the chopped pieces of fruits over, evenly.
- Pour the custard after it has cooled.
- Sprinkle the crumbled cake.
- Beat the Ice Cream until smooth. Pour and spread over.
- Decorate with cherries, almonds & wafers.
Serve Chilled.
