How Devavrata's was born:
Shantanu was the King of Hastinapur.
One day, he was walking on the banks of the river Ganga.
Suddenly, he saw a beautiful maiden.
He was stunned by her beauty and grace.
He had never seen such a divinely beautiful maiden.
Shantanu was attracted to her.
He just stood there gazing at her.
"Am I dreaming?" he wondered.
Coming out of his daze he said,
"O beautiful maiden! My name is Shantanu.
I am the King of Hastinapur. The moment I saw you, I fell in love with you. Will you many me?”
