The news of the Pandavas1 marriage to Draupadi reached Hastinapur.

The Pandavas came back to Hastinapur along with Kunti and Draupadi.
They sought the blessings of the elders.
Dhritarashtra said to Yudhishthira,
"Go to Khandavaprastha and make it your capital so that you can rule peacefully. It is a ruined city now. But in the ancient times, our forefathers had their capital there. If you live there, it may end the hatred and ill-will between you and the Kauravas."
