As mother of the world JAGATMATA
As goddess of the Universe BHAVANI,
As a destroyer of evil she is DURGA (the inaccessible),
As the destroyer KALI or SHYAMA (the black complexioned),
As a goddess to be feared CHANDIKA, CHANDI or BHAIRAVI (the terrible).
All these are included under the name of DEVI-MAHADEVI (the great goddess).
