A wolf after enjoying a good meal was in a playful mood. He caught sight of a boy lying flat upon the ground. He realized that the boy was trying to hide from him.
The wolf crept up to the boy and putting one paw on his shoulder said,
Aha, I have caught you and will like to eat you up. But if you can tell me three things, the truth of which cannot be challenged then I will let you go.
The boy thought for some time and then picking up courage he replied,
The first truth is a pity that you saw me: secondly, I was a fool to have let myself be seen; thirdly, we all hate wolves as they always attack our flocks without provocation.
The wolf looked at the boy and said, Well what you say is undoubtedly true from your point of view. He let the boy go who ran away as fast as he could.
