Salu, the wolf, was starving. A few days back he had been chased by a pack of dogs.
He managed to escape but was wounded and had dragged himself to the side of a river, and was lying there
He was not able to see or catch his prey and so was hungry and starving. He spied a sheep across the river and thought,
" AT LAST! Here comes a meal for me!"
He put his arm in a sling and called out, "Little white sheep," he called out to her, "Could you bring me some water to drink. I am not able to go down the bank of this river to drink water also. If you bring me a little water to drink I will be refreshed enough to find myself some thing to eat!"
"But if I bring you something to drink, then I will be close enough to you and then you will already have found some thing to eat," said the sheep and ran away from the wolf.
DECEIT NEVER SUCCEEDS FOR LONG.
