3. THE LION
In a jungle lived a lion and all the animals in the jungle were afraid of him, as he was the king of that jungle.
Once the lion had to take to his bed due to illness. All the animals of his jungle kingdom came to see him except the fox.
The wolf came to know about this and said to the lion, " Oh mighty lion, you are the king of this jungle. All the animals have come to see you during your illness to pledge support. The fox has not had the time to come here yet."  This infuriated the lion.
A cat, just about to come into the cave that was the lion's den, overheard the conversation between the lion and the wolf.
She immediately ran to the fox and said, " Hey friend fox, you better be careful now. The wolf has turned the lion against you. The Lion is very angry as you did not go to see him during his illness."
The fox ran to the wolf without a moment's delay. After talking to the wolf for sometime, the fox said, " Friend wolf, I have heard that the lion is ill. I have not gone to see him so far. Shall we go together today and inquire about his health and pay our respects to him?"
The wolf agreed. When both of them reached the lion's den, the lion seeing them coming in through the mouth of the cave roared in anger. The wolf thought, " the lion is furious with the fox. It will be fun watching what he does to the fox."
The fox bowed to the lion and said, " Oh King! When I heard of your illness, I immediately went in search of some suitable medicine for you.. But I could not get any. I went to Dr. Camel, Dr. Leopard and Dr. Elephant. They all have the same opinion about the medicine that will cure you permanently."
"What is it? Asked the lion.
" They all have prescribed that you drink the fresh blood of a wolf. There is no other remedy for your illness," replied the fox.
The lion looked at the wolf and pondered what he should do as the wolf trembled in fear. He was not sure about what the lion would do.
The lion roared again, " Is that the only remedy? In that case I will take the prescribed medicine right now."
He then killed the wolf with a swipe of his paw and went about taking his medicine.
The fox looked at the dead wolf. Smiling triumphantly he bade goodbye to the lion and left.
