4. THE FOX AND HIS TAIL
A hunter, fed up with the trouble creating foxes living in the forest close to his village, laid a spring trap to catch them. A fox came close to the trap and sniffed at the bait in it, which was prime meat. The fox, suspicious, about the visible trap went round and round it in an attempt to find out what the free food was all about. Whilst doing this his tail touched the trap and sprung it. The fox's tail was caught firmly in the trap. The fox struggled to escape which he managed to do but had to go without his tail which was cut off and left in the trap.
The fox whilst running home thought, " I have to entice the other foxes to get their tails cut as I do not want to be the only fox without a tail."
He started preaching the advantage of tailless-ness.  " Why do we need tail?" he said " After all its only purpose is to enhance our looks whilst obstructing us during running and being an cacheable commodity for the hunters. I have undergone this problem and therefore have first hand knowledge and sincerely advise you to cut off you tails short."
All the young foxes agreed to this as they found this to be a viable excuse to start a new fashion trend.
That night in the regular meeting of all the foxes, a wise old fox got up and said, " We all like to know and try out new things but this thing about short tails requires another thought. Why did God give it to us if it had no use? I would like to know from the fox with a short tail if he will give us the same advise if his were to grow back again. As he has a shortcoming with a short tail he wants us all with a short tail!"
He further argued, " We should never take a decision in haste. We should think deeply about the advice of the tailless fox. If we follow the wrong advise of this selfish fox we will be repenting our decision life long! Please reject his advice."
All the foxes understood the motive of the fox without a tail and that is why we see foxes with beautiful bushy tails even now.
